It shall be the duty of all owners, tenants
and occupants of buildings or land abutting on a paved sidewalk on
a public highway to cause such sidewalk to be kept clear of snow and
ice in front of their respective premises.
Snow and ice removed from sidewalks, driveways
and other private property shall not be deposited or plowed into any
public street or highway. The existence of any such deposit on a street
or highway in front of a sidewalk, driveway or private property shall
be prima facie evidence of a violation of this section by the owner,
tenant or occupant thereof.

A. Any person whose duty it is to comply with the provisions
of this article who permits or suffers snow to stay on the sidewalk
for more than 24 hours after the snow has ceased to fall or shall
permit ice to remain on the sidewalk and not covered with a material
designed to alleviate the slippery condition shall be subject to a
fine of $50, plus costs, for each offense.
B. Each day or part of a day in which any such snow or
ice remains after it should be removed shall constitute a separate
offense.
