The purpose of this article is to regulate the posting of stickers, signs, handbills, posters or any printed material within the Village of Saugerties.
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
PERSON
Human being, corporation, association, political party, vendor, business, not-for-profit corporation or any other type of entity. The existence of any printed material or the like shall be presumed to be posted, tacked, taped, or placed with the knowing permission of any person whose name or address or phone number appears on said printed material.
Stickers, signs, handbills, posters or other printed material must be removed within 24 hours after the termination or date of the advertised event, and cannot be posted prior to two weeks before the event.
All departments of the State of New York, County of Ulster, Town of Saugerties and Village of Saugerties are exempt from the regulations set forth herein.
Any person who violates or knowingly permits the violation of this article shall be guilty of a violation, punishable by a fine of $250 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days, or both. Each separate offense shall constitute a separate additional violation. Each day each sticker, sign, bill, poster or painted material is left posted after the twenty-four-hour period for removal shall constitute a separate offense.

The purpose of this article is to regulate the hanging of banners over and across the streets in the Village of Saugerties.
An entity desiring to display a banner or banners over and across a street or streets in the Village of Saugerties must complete an application obtained from the Village Clerk.
The application must be approved by the Village Board.
If approval by the New York State Department of Transportation is required, a copy of their approval must be provided to the Village.
Banners can be hung no earlier than two weeks prior to the advertised event and must be removed within one week after the event.
Penalties for offenses will be per banner for each day of violation, punishable by a fine of $250 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days, or both.
The entity hanging the banner must accept sole responsibility for any liability arising out of placement of the banner and removal of the banner as well as any liability that may arise from the display (i.e., falling).
