It is the purpose of this article to eliminate
any requirement which can be found in state or local law that the
Building Inspector of the Town and the Assistant Building Inspector
of the Town be residents of the Town of Thompson.
Any requirement of law that a person be a resident
of the Town of Thompson shall not prevent a person from holding the
office of Town Building Inspector or Deputy or Assistant Town Building
Inspector in the Town of Thompson, provided that such person resides
in the County of Sullivan.
