Residency requirements for appointment and continued service on standing
Village committees, advisory boards and commissions shall not be limited to
resident electors of the Village.
Preference shall be given to qualified Village electors, and where it
shall be determined by the Village Board that the public interest would be
served or where there shall be no qualified Village elector available for
appointment, then and in such event the Village Board may in accordance with
Village Law appoint a Town of Warwick resident, provided such person shall
have one or more of the following qualifications:
A. Owner of a fee interest in real property located within
the Village;

nonresident shall be prohibited if such appointment or continued service will
result in any board, committee or advisory panel having a membership with
greater than 25% nonresidents.
A. Where as a result of change in the constitution of a
board, committee or panel, the nonresident membership shall exceed 25%, then
in that event, such board may continue to meet until such time as a vacancy
then existing is filled, or where the 25% limitation is exceeded as a result
of the change in residency or other qualification of a member, then in that
event, the position by the least senior nonresident member of such committee,
board or panel shall be declared vacant and shall be filled as a resident
elector.
B. Any action taken by the Board shall not be invalidated
by virtue of noncompliance with the terms of this chapter.
