The Township Committee shall appoint a Municipal Clerk, who
shall be known as the "Township Clerk." The Township Clerk shall serve
for a term of three years and subject to law, at such compensation
as shall be fixed by ordinance.
The Township Clerk shall:
A. Serve as Clerk of the Township Committee and keep its minutes and
records of its proceedings in appropriate books to be kept in his
office.
B. Keep suitable records of all Township business transacted by the
Clerk and shall report the same to the Township Committee at regular
Township Committee meetings or immediately whenever the interest of
the Township requires.
C. Have custody of all records, documents, reports, papers and maps
required to be filed in the Clerk's office and shall keep and maintain
the Seal of the Township.
D. Maintain and compile the ordinances and resolutions of the Township
as required by law.
E. Perform the duties of the issuing authority for the approval of the
granting of raffle and bingo licenses pursuant to N.J.A.C. 13:47-1.1
et seq.
F. Perform such other duties as may be provided by law, including but
not limited to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-133 et seq. and N.J.S.A. 33:1-1 et seq.,
and by the Charter, ordinances, and resolutions of the Township.
The Township Clerk shall give a bond to the Township in such
form, for such sum and with such surety as the governing body of the
local unit shall, by resolution, direct, conditional upon the faithful
discharge of the Clerk's duties, and accounting for the money and
property of the Township.
