This article establishes a code to deal with public recreational bathing
places such as swimming pools, hot tubs, spas and the like. It addresses various
construction, safety, maintenance standards and procedures. It also addresses
various fees and permits.
No person shall operate a public recreational bathing facility until
a license is received from the Board of Health as prescribed in Article II,
Permits and Chapter
337, Swimming Pools, Public.
A. Licenses issued for the operation of a public recreational
bathing facility shall expire annually on December 31 and an application for
renewal shall be submitted, together with the required fee, prior to the opening
of the facility for the season.
No person having skin lesions, sore or inflamed eyes, mouth, nose or
ear discharge or who is a carrier shall knowingly use any public recreational
bathing place or be permitted to use any public recreational bathing place.
No person shall discharge of wastewater into the municipal sanitary
sewage system without written permission of the municipal sewage authority.
A pool shall be discharged in accordance with the New Jersey Department of
Environmental Protection standards.
Any person in violation of this article or the public recreational bathing
regulations, or any other applicable laws, may be subject to the penalties
provided in Article
III of this chapter.
