GENERAL REFERENCES
Hunting and fishing in parks and recreation areas — See Ch. 95B.
No person within the Borough of Oaklyn shall fire, discharge, possess,
use or carry and no person within the Borough of Oaklyn shall possess or carry
in any automobile, carriage, motorcycle or other vehicle or conveyance or
shall conceal on or about his clothes or person any rifle, pistol, gun, shotgun
or BB gun or other firearm as defined by N.J.S.A. 2A:151-1[1] as the same may be at any time hereafter amended, provided that
the words "fire" and "discharge" shall not be deemed to include the firing
of blank cartridges.

The provisions of § 74-1 hereof shall not apply or refer to:
A.
Persons carrying or possessing antique pistols or revolvers
unsuitable for use as firearms and possessed as curiosities or ornaments.
B.
Any retail dealer possessing, having, selling or dealing
in revolvers or pistols and having a license to sell the same in accordance
with state law.
C.
Any person keeping or carrying about his place of business,
dwelling house, premises or on land possessed by him any revolver or pistol,
or carrying the same from any place of purchase to his dwelling or place of
business or to or from any place where repairing is done.
D.
Any person discharging any firearm in protection of himself,
members of his family or his guests or in protection of his property.
F.
Persons having a hunter's license who pass through the
Borough in going to and from places of hunting lying outside the Borough limits.
G.
Persons who with the permission of the adult occupant
discharge firearms below the ground level in the basement of a single-family
dwelling, provided that the discharge is directed toward the rear of the building,
and further provided that any minor so discharging shall be supervised by
and in the presence of an adult.
H.
Persons firing in or upon a temporary or permanent firing
range in the Borough of Oaklyn for the purpose of competition or target practice,
provided that:
(1)
The use of such firing range shall have been approved
by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Oaklyn by a duly adopted resolution.
(2)
Such firing range is used only for such specific purposes
and under such conditions and at such times as may be established from time
to time by resolution of the said Mayor and Council.
(3)
The range is under competent supervision at the time
it is being used.
No person within the Borough of Oaklyn shall hunt for take, kill or
pursue any bird, animal or fowl with any rifle, pistol, gun, shotgun, BB gun
or other firearm as defined by N.J.S.A. 2A:151-1,[1] as the same may be at any time hereafter amended, of what-soever
kind, nature or description, or with any bow and arrow, crossbow gun or similar
weapon.

Any person violating the provisions of this chapter or any section or
part thereof shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine of not more than
$500 or to imprisonment in the county jail not exceeding 90 days, or both,
in the discretion of the Judge of the Municipal Court.
