There shall be created the position of Borough Code Enforcement Officer with the Borough of Palmyra.

The Code Enforcement Officer shall be appointed by the governing body.
A.
It shall be the responsibility of the Code Enforcement Officer to enforce the following enumerated ordinances as set forth in the Code of Palmyra:[1]

Editor's Note: The references which appeared in this subsection to Ch. 6, Amusements and Exhibitions on Sundays, and Ch. 30, Food and Drink Establishments, of the 1971 Code have been removed in light of the repeal of those chapters by Ord. No. 2003-19. The reference to Ch. 94, Zoning, of the 1971 Code has also been removed in light of the repeal of that chapter by Ord. No. 1994-22.
B.
Although the Code Enforcement Officer's primary responsibility shall be enforcing the above-enumerated ordinances, other municipal employees and officials may also enforce said ordinances, and the delegation of this enforcement duty to the Code Enforcement Officer shall not preclude others from enforcing said ordinances.
The salary, working hours and schedule of the Code Enforcement Officer shall be fixed by the Mayor and Council.
