There is hereby instituted in the Township of
Pennsauken a minimum charge of $20 for receipt by the Township of
Pennsauken of checks which are returned for insufficient funds, stop
payment, uncollected funds or any other reason any check is returned
uncollectible.
The Municipal Finance Officer is hereby authorized
and directed to collect the above fee from any payer whose check to
the Township of Pennsauken has been returned unpaid. Further, the
Municipal Finance Officer is authorized to collect said fee for any
returned check to any department, division or other branch of the
government of the Township of Pennsauken.
Whenever a check is returned unpaid for an account
dealing with taxes or special assessments, the Tax Collector is authorized
to include the returned check fee of $20 to the list of delinquent
accounts prepared for the enforcement of liens.
