The Department of Engineering shall be headed
by a Director who shall be the Township Engineer and who shall be
qualified by training and experience. This position may be part-time.
The Department of Engineering shall perform
all appropriate functions associated with:
A.
Being engineering advisor to the Mayor, Council and
the Business Administrator.
B.
Preparing or causing to be prepared plans and specifications
for public works and improvements undertaken by the Township.
C.
Supervising the performance of contracts for public
works and certifying the amounts due and payable thereunder.
D.
Maintaining maps, charts, engineering data and records
as may be required for the proper and efficient technical administration
of public works functions.
All papers, documents, memoranda, reports and
other materials relating to the administration of the Department of
Engineering shall be and remain the property of the Township. Upon
termination of his service with the Township, the Engineer shall forthwith
surrender to his successor all such property, together with a written
consent to substitution of his successor in all engineering matters
thus pending to which the Township is a party.
