A.
The use of portable kerosene heating units is permitted only as a supplement to the central heating system in single-family, twin or half double residential units and in multiple-dwelling-unit complexes (i.e., townhouses) in which the individual units are separated by approved fire walls.
B.
The use of portable kerosene heating units is not permitted in apartment houses, multiple dwellings with two (2) or more dwelling units, boardinghouses, motels or hotels.
C.
Commercial establishments, industrial establishments or public offices.
(1)
The use of portable kerosene heating units is not permitted in commercial establishments, industrial establishments or public offices, except as permitted herein.
(2)
Portable kerosene heating units may be used in commercial establishments, industrial establishments and public offices, provided that:
(a)
The portable kerosene heating unit is surrounded by a one-half-inch-square wire mesh frame which will prevent persons from coming into contact with the portable kerosene heating unit.
(b)
There shall be a minimum clearance of six (6) inches between the kerosene heating unit and the wire mesh frame protection screen.
(c)
All protection material shall be noncombustible.
D.
The use of portable kerosene heating units is prohibited in places of public assembly, schools, churches, amusement establishments and all other institutions where public meetings are held or the public assembles.
