The short title of this ordinance shall be the "Palmer Township Health
and Sanitary Code."
The Supervisors may appoint a Health and Sanitary Officer who shall
have primary responsibility for the enforcement of the Palmer Township Health
and Sanitary Code, and who may enforce other Township laws pertaining to health.
The Zoning Officer, Building Inspector and Plumbing Inspector are hereby declared
to be ex officio Assistant Health and Sanitary Officers with the same powers
as the Health and Sanitary Officer, including the power to quarantine. For
the purposes of the code, the Health and Sanitary Officer shall be the "Public
Officer." The public officer responsible for the enforcement of the Palmer
Township Health and Sanitary Code shall be certified as a qualified health
officer or inspector by the Department of Environmental Protection, the Department
of Agriculture and the Department of Health in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
