A. 
On the following bridges and streets or parts of streets, by authority granted by § 4902(a) of the Vehicle Code, it shall be unlawful for any person or persons to drive any vehicle or combination having a gross weight in excess of the maximum prescribed below for that bridge or street or part of street, as the case may be; provided that nothing in the above shall prohibit any person from driving an emergency vehicle on any of those streets or parts of streets; or from driving on any of those streets or parts of streets a truck or other commercial vehicle making local deliveries to, or pickups from, premises located along that street or part of a street:

B. 
Any person who violates any provision of this section shall be prosecuted under § 4902(a) and (g)(1) of the Vehicle Code[1] and, upon conviction, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of $150 plus $150 for each 500 pounds, or part thereof, in excess of 3,000 pounds over the maximum allowable weight, and costs.

No vehicles Class 4 or above, i.e., having 2 axles with 6 tires or 3 or more axles, nor vehicles with trailers shall be permitted; emergency vehicles falling into this classification shall be exempt from this prohibition, but local deliveries or pickups by excluded vehicles shall not be permitted unless a special permit is issued by the Township, which permit may require such undertaking or security as the Township deems necessary to cover the cost of repairs and restoration necessitated by the permitted movement of vehicles

NOTE: The Township may issue permits for movement of vehicles of size and weight in excess of restrictions promulgated under this section with respect to streets and bridges and may require such undertaking or security as it deems necessary to cover the costs of repairs and restoration necessitated by the permitted movement of vehicles. The Township shall not refuse to issue a permit with respect to a highway under its jurisdiction if there is no reasonable alternate route available. For purposes of this section, "reasonable alternate route" shall mean a route meeting the criteria set forth in Pennsylvania Department of Highway regulations relating to traffic and engineering studies.
B. 
Any person who violates any provision of this section shall be prosecuted under § 4902(a) and (g)(1) of the Vehicle Code[1] and, upon conviction, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of $75, except that any person convicted of operating a vehicle with a gross weight in excess of a posted weight shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $150, plus $150 for each 500 pounds, or part thereof, in excess of 3,000 pounds over the maximum allowable weight.
