All persons elected to any Township office shall,
before entering the duties of their office, take and subscribe an
oath or affirmation, before such person having authority to administer
oaths, to support the Constitution of the United States and of the
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and to perform the duties of their offices
with fidelity. A copy of such oath or affirmation shall be filed with
the Township Manager.

Any person violating any of the provisions of Article
IX, entitled "Prohibitions and Conflicts of Interest," § 901, entitled "Prohibited Activities," of the Home Rule Charter shall, upon conviction, be guilty of a summary offense and be sentenced to pay a fine not to exceed the maximum fine of $600 plus costs of prosecution and, in default of payment of such costs and prosecution, imprisonment for a term not exceeding 30 days; provided, however, that if the District Justice determines that the defendant is without the financial means to pay the fines and costs immediately or in a single remittance, such defendant shall be permitted to pay the fines or costs in installments and over such periods of time as the District Justice deems to be just.
Whitemarsh Township shall follow the Municipal
Records Retention and Disposition Schedule approved by the Local Government
Records Committee pursuant to the Municipal Records Act of the Commonwealth
of Pennsylvania. All records of the Township shall be preserved for such
period of time as may be designated in said schedule for each particular
kind and character of municipal public record.
Whenever any time established for the taking
of an action expires on a Saturday, Sunday or on a Township-designated
legal holiday, such time shall not expire on said day but shall expire
on the next business day.
There shall be a Township Seal which shall contain
the name of the Township and the word "Seal," which shall be in the
custody of the Secretary/Manager. The official acts of the Supervisors
shall be authenticated with the Seal and shall have the same effect
when used for such authentication as the seal of a notary public.
The following chapters of the Code of the Township
of Whitemarsh are hereby repealed, except, insofar as the provisions
of this chapter continue any provisions of such chapter, such provisions
of this chapter shall be deemed a continuation of such provisions
otherwise repealed hereby:
A. Chapter 7, Fire Commission.
B. Chapter
10, Historic District, Art.
II.
C. Chapter 15, Library, Public.
E. Chapter 27, Planning Commission.
F. Chapter 30, Recreation Board.
Should any section or provision of this chapter
be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such
decision shall not affect the validity of the chapter as a whole or
any part thereof.
This chapter shall become effective on the third
of January 1983.
