[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Russell Gardens 2-9-1981 as L.L. No. 1-1981. Amendments noted where applicable.]

In accordance with the authority granted by the State of New York, a Village Justice Court for the Village of Russell Gardens is hereby established and created for said village.
The jurisdiction of the Village Justice Court shall be over the provisions contained within the Code of the Village of Russell Gardens, as from time to time amended, and as is permitted by the Uniform Justice Court Act of the State of New York, as from time to time amended.
In accordance with the provisions of the Village Law of the State of New York, the offices of Village Justice and Acting Village Justice are hereby created within the Village of Russell Gardens.

The salaries of the Village Justice and Acting Village Justice shall be established by the Board of Trustees by resolution.
The Board of Trustees shall be empowered to appoint such employees, officers and the like as may be required to operate and conduct Court in the village in accordance with the procedures provided by law and to provide for the compensation of such employees, officers and the like. The Board of Trustees shall be empowered to secure such systems and services as may be required in the operation and conduct of the Court system established within the village and to provide for the payment thereof in accordance with law.

The Village Justice shall serve for a term of four years, and the Acting Village Justice shall serve for a term as provided in the Village Law of the State of New York.
