A.
Established; term. The position of Deputy Director in the Department of Public Works is established. The Deputy shall serve during the term of the Director of the Department but may be removed by his/her principal at any time, and such removal shall not be reviewable.
B.
Holding other office. If an employee of the City is designated to perform the duties of a deputy in addition to the performance of the ordinary duties of the office, the expiration of the term of the principal office or removal from the office of deputy shall not affect his/her right to the office held before his/her designation as deputy, the duties of which office (s)he has continued to perform.
C.
Duties.
(1)
The Director shall prescribe the powers and duties of the Deputy and the acts of such deputy shall, in all cases, be as legal and binding as if performed by the Director, but the Deputy shall not be authorized to act for the Director at meetings of the Board of Commissioners.
(2)
The list of duties of the Deputy shall be placed on file with the City Clerk immediately after the appointment shall have been made and the list may be amended from time to time at the discretion of the Director of Public Works.
