It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to operate, dock or anchor a boat, launch or other vessel, except in an emergency, in that portion of Canandaigua Lake adjacent to Kershaw Park and which is commonly used for bathing or swimming; or to operate, dock or anchor such a boat, launch or other vessel in said waters closer than 500 feet to the shoreline as indicated by any sign, marker or buoy hereafter placed in said lake to warn operators of such vessels away from the shoreline.
It shall be unlawful to operate, dock or anchor a boat, launch or other vessel in that portion of Canandaigua Lake within the limits of the City in such manner to annoy, endanger or interfere with persons lawfully swimming or bathing in said lake.
A. 
In that portion of Canandaigua Lake east of the City Pier and within the limits of the City of Canandaigua where boating is permitted, it shall be unlawful to operate a boat, launch or other vessel at a speed in excess of five miles per hour as indicated by any sign, marker or buoy hereafter placed in said lake to warn operators of such speed limit.
B. 
It shall be unlawful to operate a boat launch or other vessel at a speed excess of five miles per hour as indicated by any sign, marker or buoy hereinafter placed in Canandaigua Lake to warn operators of said speed limit within the area of said lake which is bounded as follows: On a line due south from the southeast corner of the City Pier a distance of 500 feet to a point to be marked with a buoy; thence westerly in a line to the southernmost tip of Squaw Island; thence due north in a line terminating at the north shore of Canandaigua Lake; thence easterly in a line terminating at the City Pier; thence along the westerly and southerly edge of said pier to the southeast corner of the City Pier.
C. 
Within that portion of the harbor which is bounded on the west by the main pier and on the east by the breakwater, and which is known as the "basin," no steamboat, launch or other vessel shall attain a rate of speed higher than is requisite to afford sufficient steerage way for the purpose of navigating the same. The same care shall be exercised over other boats using the various slips adjacent to the small piers on the west side of the main pier.
In that portion of Canandaigua Lake east of the breakwall which is east of the City Pier and within the limits of the City of Canandaigua where boating is permitted, it shall be unlawful to operate or launch a boat, launch or other vessel within 20 feet of any other boat, launch or other vessel or swimmer as indicated by any sign, marker or buoy hereinafter set in place in said lake to warn operators of such restriction.
Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable by a fine not exceeding $250 or imprisonment in the County Jail of Ontario County for not more than 15 days, or both such fine and imprisonment. Each day on which any such violation continues shall constitute a separate offense.
