The provisions of this article shall apply except when it is necessary to stop a vehicle to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or official traffic control device.
No person shall park a vehicle at any time upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in Schedule XI (§ 265-43), attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall stop a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule XII (§ 265-44), attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall stand a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule XIII (§ 265-45), attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall park a vehicle between the hours specified in Schedule XIV (§ 265-46) of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said schedule, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall stop a vehicle during the times specified in Schedule XV (§ 265-47) of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said schedule, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall stand a vehicle during the times specified in Schedule XVI (§ 265-48) of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said schedule, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall park a vehicle for longer than the time limit shown in Schedule XVII (§ 265-49) at any time between the hours listed in said schedule of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said schedule, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall park a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in Schedule XVIII (§ 265-50), attached to and made a part of this chapter, except at the angle designated and only within the painted stall lines. On all streets or portions thereof where angle parking is now or shall hereafter be authorized, all vehicles parked thereon shall be parked with the front thereof nearest the curb.
The locations described in Schedule XIX (§ 265-51), attached to and made a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as loading zones.
The locations described in Schedule XX (§ 265-52), attached to and made a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as taxi stands.
The locations described in Schedule XXI (§ 265-53), attached to and made a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as bus stops.
It shall be unlawful for any person to park any vehicle or to allow the same to remain parked in any special purpose parking zone established in Schedule XXII (§ 265-54), attached to and made a part of this chapter, except as specifically provided for such zone.

No person shall park a vehicle on even-numbered sides of the street on odd-numbered days of the month between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 6:00 p.m. nor on odd-numbered sides of the street on even-numbered days between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 6:00 p.m. on streets specified in Schedule XXIII (§ 265-55).
B. 
Upon the Mayor's order, alternate side of the street parking regulations can be suspended for special events, holidays, maintenance and emergencies.

The Glen Cove Police Department, code enforcers and auxiliary police will enforce parking restrictions in the following parking areas:

C. 
The Pulaski Street and Brewster Street Garages are not to be used for the purpose of other than parking a vehicle, without the express written consent of the Mayor or Chief of Police of the City of Glen Cove. All persons present in the garages without the intent of going to or from a parked vehicle will be considered in violation of this subsection.
D. 
The Glen Cove Police Department, Code enforcers and auxiliary police will enforce parking restrictions in the parking area immediately adjoining the Glen Pearsall Cooperative Apartments located at 30-34 Pearsall Avenue. In addition, the Glen Cove Police Department shall enforce applicable sections of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law, including § 1640, on said property.

E. 
Glen Cove Shopping Center. Pursuant to the authority of Vehicle and Traffic Law § 1640-a and the written request of the owner of the Glen Cove Shopping Center, the following traffic regulations shall apply to the Glen Cove Shopping Center located on Forest Avenue:
(1) 
No parking along any sidewalk adjacent to store buildings wherever a "No Parking - Fire Lane" sign is posted.
(2) 
No parking wherever handicapped parking is designated by a posted sign, except by permit issued pursuant to law.
(3) 
No parking along any entrance or exit roadway wherever a "No Parking - Fire Lane" sign is posted.
(4) 
All vehicles shall park only within designated parking spaces.
(5) 
A stop sign shall be installed inside the shopping center 234 feet north of the Forest Avenue entrance starting from the southeast corner.

A "One Way" sign shall be installed at the driveway traveling "one way" for traffic traveling north in the direction of Brewster Street and two "Do Not Enter" signs will be installed at the parking lot at Brewster Street and the parking lot.
