The duties of the Ordinance Enforcement Officer
shall be to initiate, coordinate, oversee and administer all inspections,
giving of notices, posting of properties, etc., called for in the
following chapters of the Code of the Borough of Marietta:

Burning and Open Fires

Curfew
|
|
Firearms, Fireworks and Projectiles
|
|
Housing Standards

Junkyards

Noise
|
|
Parking Lot, Municipal
|
|
Parks
|
|
Peddling and Soliciting
|
|
Sewers
|
|
Solid Waste
|
|
Streets and Sidewalks
|
|
Taxation
|
|
Vector Control
|
|
Vehicles, Unlicensed
|
|
Vending Machines
|
|
Wood- and Coal-Burning Devices

Upon a determination that a violation of any of the chapters enumerated in §
33-6 above has occurred, the Code Enforcement Officer shall have the authority to issue citations related thereto, pursuant to the provisions of the said chapters, and shall have authority to represent the Borough of Marietta as its prosecuting agent before the Magisterial District Judge in the prosecution of all such citations. The Code Enforcement Officer shall also have authority to direct the Borough Solicitor to take any legal actions on behalf of the Borough of Marietta that the said chapters, or relevant state laws, state are permitted by violations thereof, upon written notice to the Borough Secretary and Borough Council.
The Code Enforcement Officer shall be appointed
by motion or resolution of the Borough Council, and all future reaffirmations
of appointment shall be done by motion or resolution at the biennial
reorganizational meeting of the Council. All replacements of the Code
Enforcement Officer shall be by motion or resolution of the Borough
Council.
