The office of Township Manager (hereinafter "Manager") is hereby
created for Westtown Township (hereinafter "Township").

The Manager shall be appointed for an indefinite term by a majority
of all the members of the Board shall serve at the pleasure of the
Board and shall be subject to removal by the Board by majority vote.
At least 15 days before such removal, the Board shall furnish the
Manager with a written statement setting forth its intention to remove
the Manager. The Manager shall be entitled to a severance package
containing the Manager's salary and the then in force health
insurance benefit coverage. Such severance package shall accrue to
the Manager at the rate of 15 days' salary and health insurance
coverage for each year the Manager is employed by the Township, commencing
at the end of the first full year's employment. The Manager shall
be entitled to a maximum severance payment of 90 days' salary
and health insurance benefit coverage, or until the Manager accepts
an offer of full-time employment, whichever comes first. The Manager
will not be entitled to the aforementioned severance package if the
Manager is discharged for just cause.
The annual compensation of the Manager shall be set by resolution
of the Board. At the beginning of each year, the amount of the compensation
shall be set forth in the budget, or by a subsequent resolution of
the Board in the event the Manager is hired after the adoption of
the budget.
The Manager shall give a bond in the amount of $250,000, the
premium for which shall be paid by the Township, conditioned upon
the faithful performance of the Manager's duties.
The Manager's office shall not be incompatible with the
office of the Township Secretary, the Township Treasurer, or any other
Township office or employment except those of Supervisor and Solicitor.
The Board is empowered from time to time to establish reasonable
rules and regulations with respect to the Manager.
