This article shall be known as the "Water Tariff
Ordinance of 1955."
The following words or phrases, unless the context
clearly indicates otherwise, shall have the meanings ascribed to them
in this section:
COMMERCIAL CONSUMER
Any industrial or mercantile establishment to which the Borough
serves more than 50,000 gallons of water per quarter. Multiple dwellings,
hotels, boardinghouses, schools or other educational institutions
or trailer camps are not to be held to be within this definition.
TARIFFS
The rates which shall be charged for water furnished by the
Borough of Baden.
WATER
All water furnished by the Borough of Baden through its system
of water mains and lines or by any other agency acting under franchise
or contract to which the said Borough is party.

Water supplied to noncommercial consumers (as defined in §
187-22) must be placed in the name of the property owner. Consumers who are renting or residing in a property which is not titled in their name may not have water service placed solely in their name.

The following schedule of tariffs is hereby established, and
the same shall be charged for water in the first quarter of 2007 from
the date of this amendment:
A. For the first 2,000 gallons or less, consumers shall be charged $38
per quarter.
B. For each additional 1,000 gallons or part thereof, consumers shall
be charged $4.50 per quarter.
C. All future schedules of rates shall be done by resolution.
Water meters shall be read quarterly, and a
statement of the amount due shall be issued to each consumer quarterly.
A consumer shall have 15 days from the date
of statement in which to pay the amount thereof at face; thereafter
a penalty of 10% shall be added to the face amount of such bill.
The Borough shall be entitled to file a lien
against the premises to which water was furnished for the amount of
any delinquent water bill.
Upon receipt of a certificate from the Borough
Secretary to the effect that the water account of any consumer is
delinquent for more than 45 days, the Water Commissioner is hereby
authorized to shut off the water service to such consumer until the
account has been paid in full.
