Any person serving as a volunteer coach, manager
or other agent for a nonprofit youth sports organization for children
under the age of 18 shall be required to receive a fingerprint background
check through the New Jersey State Police and the F.B.I. prior to
serving as a coach or manager. Whether or not such person is eligible
to serve shall be determined by the volunteer sports organization.
The Township shall assist in obtaining the background checks which
shall be required for so long as such checks are available.

Serving as a volunteer coach or manager without
having submitted for a fingerprint background check after having been
advised of the requirement to do so and when such background checks
are available shall be a violation of this chapter, subject to a fine
not exceeding $2,000, imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90 days
or a period of community service not exceeding 90 days, or any combination
thereof.
