It shall hereinafter be unlawful for any person to carry an
open container of any alcoholic beverage with the intent to consume
or to consume any alcoholic beverage on any street or public area
or building or to carry an open container of any alcoholic beverage
or to consume any alcoholic beverage in any vehicle located on any
street or public area within the Village of New Hartford at any time,
except in certain areas as designated by the Village Board of the
Village of New Hartford as picnic or recreation areas. Such areas
are designated as such by the placement of signs thereon.
A violation of this chapter shall be punishable by a fine of
not more than $250 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days, or
both.
