Water hookup fee
NOTE: This fee is effective April 1, 2017, for those who plan
on hooking up to any existing or new water district in the Town of
Phelps. This includes the tapping of the main, water service pipe
to the right-of-way and the curb stop set on the edge of the right-of-way.
The fee of $1,500 is only for customers that are hooking up on the
same side that the water main is. If the water main is on the other
side of the road, added cost may occur.

Meter pit
NOTE: If the customer needs a meter pit because the house is
on a slab, has no basement or the house is more than 200 feet off
the road, then the customer will be charged a meter pit fee. That
includes the cost of the meter pit and the extra work done to install
the meter pit.
The homeowner or customer will not be able to do any work on
the water service that is within the Town right-of-way. Once the water
is complete by the Town of Phelps Water Department and run to the
right-of-way of the customer, then the homeowner/customer may continue
running the service into their home, business or dwelling but still
use the approved supplies and water pipe from Water Department regulations.
