This chapter shall be known and may be cited
as the "Speed-Timing Devices Ordinance of Uwchlan Township."
The words and phrases used in this chapter shall have the meaning respectively ascribed to them in Act 81 (Vehicle Code), Chapter
1, Section 102, Definitions, of the Vehicle Code of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, as supplemented and amended.
The Board of Supervisors hereby declares that
it has approved the use of speed-timing devices to aid in the enforcement
of Uwchlan Township's speed restrictions.
The types of speed-timing devices which can
be used shall be either mechanical or electrical timing devices which
are approved by the Department, as provided in 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 3368
(the Vehicle Code). For example, and not by way of limitation, the
Board of Supervisors specifically authorizes the use of the Model
TK 100, Excessive Speed Preventor, manufactured by Systems Innovation,
Box 357, Hallstead, Pennsylvania. The above speed-timing device was
approved under the provisions of 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 3368(d)
by the Department on December 16, 1978.
The peace officers of Uwchlan Township are authorized
and directed to use the approved speed-timing devices to aid in the
enforcement of the Township's speed restrictions.
