This article shall be known as the "Other Animals"
article of the Town of Williamson, New York.
When used in this article, as otherwise expressly
stated, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
FARM ANIMALS
Horses, ponies, livestock, cattle, goats, sheep, pigs, mules,
donkeys, fowl, and any other animals customarily kept on a farm, but
not including common household pets.
Every person who shall own, keep, or suffer
to be kept any farm animals upon any premises owned or occupied by
him or her shall provide and maintain in good repair fencing of sufficient
strength and height and so located as to prevent any farm animals
from straying off such premises owned or occupied by him or her onto
lands owned by another or onto any public property.
Any person harboring any farm animal for a period
of two weeks prior to any violation of this article shall be deemed
to be the owner of such animal or animals.
Any premises or enclosure occupied or used for
harboring or keeping any farm animals shall be kept in a clean, habitable
condition at all times.
All other local laws and articles of the Town
of Williamson inconsistent with the provisions of this article are
hereby repealed, and the impoundment fees herein established shall
supersede those otherwise prescribed in § 118 of the Agriculture
and Markets Law of the State of New York.
