The purpose of this chapter is to authorize
public servants of the Town of Colonie to issue and serve appearance
tickets in connection with violations of state statutes, local laws,
ordinances or rules and regulations of the Town which the public servants
are authorized or required to enforce.
A.
The following public servants of the Town of Colonie
are hereby authorized to issue and serve appearance tickets with respect
to violation of a state statute, a local law, ordinance, rule or regulation
of the Town of Colonie that such public servants are, respectively,
required or authorized to enforce:
(1)
Building Department Superintendent, Chief Building
Inspector and Building Inspectors: building and zoning.
(2)
Chief Fire Inspector and Fire Inspectors: fire prevention
and safety.
(3)
Water District Superintendent or the Superintendent's
designee(s), and the Reservoir Caretaker: Latham Water District matters.

Animal Control Officer or Dog Warden: animal control.

B.
Each and every designated position also has enforcement
responsibilities with respect to the health, safety and welfare of
the Town of Colonie as it relates to his particular department's responsibilities.
An appearance ticket other than for a parking
violation shall be served personally.
