Buildings or structures which are severely deteriorated or damaged
by any cause, collapsed, or are in danger of collapsing or the construction
of which is not completed, and open excavations become dangerous or
unsafe to the public. Brush, grass, rubbish and weeds in undue accumulations
on lands may constitute a fire hazard, and such accumulations and
poisonous shrubs, weeds or other growths may constitute a health hazard.
In order to protect and preserve the peace, good order, safety and
general welfare of the community, the Town Board determines that it
is necessary to establish a procedure for the securing or removal
of such buildings or structures, the covering or filling of such excavations
and the cutting, trimming, removal or spraying of such brush, grass,
shrubs, growth or rubbish.
This chapter shall apply within the Town of Amherst outside
the Village of Williamsville.
