There is hereby created the Department of Recreation
and Community Services, the head of which shall be the Director of
Recreation and Community Services hereinafter referred to as the "Director."
The Director shall be qualified for training and experience to be
the head of the Department.
Within the Department of Recreation and Community
Services there shall be the following Divisions:
The Manager of the Division of Recreation shall
be the appointed Director of Recreation and Community Services who
shall have all the powers and duties as enumerated by the Code of
the Borough of Eatontown.
The policies and services provided by the Division
of Public Library shall continue to be guided and advised upon by
the Eatontown Public Library Board of Trustees under the direct supervision
of the Mayor and Council and its designee. The Director of Recreation
and Community Services shall administratively oversee all matters
of municipal finance, municipal purchases and municipal personnel
for the Division of Public Library in conjunction with the Borough
Administrator and/or Chief Financial Officer. The Division of Public
Library shall be headed by the Public Library Manager.
The Division of Senior Services shall be headed
by the Senior Services Manager and perform the following duties and
responsibilities:
A.
Administer programs for senior citizens, including
social services, health, education and recreational activities.
B.
Administer social services, counseling, assessment
and other support services to the senior citizens of the Borough.
C.
Administer the general assistance programs in accordance
with state regulations.
The Division of Preschool and Child Services
shall serve to perform latch-key/day-care services, preschool, and
summer camp. The Manager of the Division shall be the Community Center
Teacher.
