The purpose of this chapter is to provide modernized standards
and regulations for the newest technology of fire alarm device, which
by radio means actuates an alarm at Township fire headquarters.

As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
ALARM SYSTEM
Any mechanical or electrical device that is arranged, designed
or used to signal the occurrence of smoke or fire.

Any alarm system that is required by the New Jersey Uniform
Construction Code and Uniform Fire Code to transmit fire alarms to
a centralized system at Fire Department headquarters, and which is
either to be newly installed or substantially altered or replaced,
shall be a radio master fire alarm box, whose brand, make and model
will be determined by the public bidding process. Such radio fire
alarm system shall transmit on a frequency and format to be determined
by the Township Fire Chief.
