All riders of bicycles, tricycles or similar vehicles shall
give an alarm by bell, whistle or otherwise which may be heard 100
feet distant when about to pass pedestrians and when about to pass
other vehicles.
It shall not be lawful to ride such bicycles, tricycles or similar
vehicles at a greater rate of speed than 20 miles per hour on any
of the public highways, streets, avenues or public places in the village.
No person shall coast or proceed by inertia or momentum with the feet off the pedals of any bicycle, tricycle or similar vehicle on any of the highways, streets, avenues or public places in said village unless such vehicle is kept under the control of such rider by the use of a good and sufficient brake, and the rate of speed fixed by §
45-2 shall not be exceeded.
No person shall ride any bicycle, tricycle or similar vehicle
upon the sidewalks within the limits of the village.
Any person committing an offense against the provisions of this
chapter shall be guilty of a violation and, upon conviction thereof,
shall be punishable for each offense by a fine of not more than $250
or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days, or both.
