The Emergency
Services Management Administrator (the Administrator) shall be responsible
for the coordination of the relationships among the Township’s
fire companies, and fire companies in neighboring communities, and
the emergency medical entities serving the Township. The Administrator
shall provide support to the Emergency Services Board and to the Township
Manager in connection with the Township’s emergency planning
and response activities undertaken in cooperation with other public
safety agencies as well as other Township departments. The Administrator
shall serve as the principal manager of the Township’s emergency
response capacity and may serve, subject to approval by the Board
of Supervisors, as the Township’s Emergency Management Coordinator,
in accordance with the Emergency Management Services Code, 35 Pa.C.S.A.
§ 7503.
The Administrator
shall provide public safety information regarding national standards,
laws, budget preparation and other relevant information by appropriate
means, which may include press releases, newsletters and public presentations.
The Administrator shall be the principal Township coordinator with
regard to obtaining grants from individuals, foundations and governmental
programs for the purposes of enhancing, expanding and supporting the
Township’s emergency service providers. The Administrator shall
also assist the Emergency Services Board in the investigation of personnel
complaints relating to allegations of violations of Township and/or
Emergency Services Board policies, rules and regulations, or established
procedures, by any individual or emergency service provider.
The Emergency
Service Management Administrator shall be appointed by, and shall
report to, the Township Manager who may, in his discretion, appoint
the Township Fire Marshal to serve in this position.
