Article I In General

Sec. 2-8-1 Transport of election machines, materials, supplies.

[Code 1964, § 11-2]

(a) Authority. The transportation of election machines, materials, furniture, fixtures and any other necessary supplies or equipment needed and required for the conduct of primaries, special elections and general elections to be held within the city shall be done by the department of public works with city equipment and employees.

(b) Expense. The expense of transporting the election machines shall be included as a budgetary item of the department of public works.

Article II Election Districts

Sec. 2-8-26 First council district.

The election districts of the first council district shall be as follows:

(1) First election district. (4) Fourth election district. The fourth election district shall encompass an area beginning at a point formed by the intersection of the centerline of Jay Street and the centerline of John Street, thence easterly along the centerline of Jay Street to the intersection of the centerline of Mohawk Street, thence southerly along the centerline of Mohawk Street to the intersection of the centerline of South Street, thence westerly along the centerline of South Street to the intersection of the centerline of Seymour Avenue, thence northerly along the centerline of Seymour Avenue to the centerline of Rutger Street, thence easterly along the centerline of Rutger Street to the intersection of the centerline of First Street, thence northerly along the centerline of First Street to the intersection of the centerline of Blandina Street, thence westerly along the centerline of Blandina Street to the intersection of the centerline of John Street, thence northerly along the centerline of John Street to the point of beginning.

(5) Fifth election district. The fifth election district shall encompass an area beginning at a point formed by the intersection of the centerline of Kossuth Avenue and the centerline of Elizabeth Street, thence northerly along the centerline of Kossuth Avenue to the intersection of the centerline of Broad Street, thence westerly along the centerline of Broad Street to the intersection of the centerline of the east-west Arterial Highway, thence southerly along the centerline of the East-West arterial to the intersection of the centerline of Jay Street, thence easterly along the centerline of Jay Street to the intersection of the centerline of Mohawk Street, thence southerly along the centerline of Mohawk Street to the intersection of the centerline of Elizabeth Street, thence easterly along the centerline of Elizabeth Street to the point of beginning.

(6) Sixth election district. The sixth election district shall encompass an area beginning at a point formed by the intersection of the centerline of Elizabeth Street and the centerline of Kossuth Avenue, thence northerly along the centerline of Kossuth Avenue to the intersection of the centerline of Broad Street, thence easterly along the centerline of Broad Street to the intersection of the centerline of Milgate Street, thence southerly along the centerline of Milgate Street to the intersection of the centerline of Mary Street, thence westerly along the centerline of Mary Street to the intersection of the centerline of Nichols Street, thence northerly along the centerline of Nichols Street to the intersection of the centerline of Elizabeth Street, thence westerly along the centerline of Elizabeth Street to the point of beginning.

(7) Seventh election district. The seventh election district shall encompass an area beginning at a point formed by the intersection of the centerline of Mohawk Street and the centerline of South Street, thence northerly along the centerline of Mohawk Street to the intersection of the centerline of Elizabeth Street, thence easterly along the centerline of Elizabeth Street to the intersection of the centerline of Kossuth Avenue, thence southerly along the centerline of Kossuth Avenue to the intersection of the centerline of Rutger Street, thence easterly along the centerline of Rutger Street to the intersection of the centerline of Albany Street, thence southeasterly along the centerline of Albany Street to the centerline of Mason Street, thence southerly along the centerline of Mason Street, to the intersection of the centerline of South Street, thence westerly along the centerline of South Street to the point of beginning.

(8) Eighth election district. The eighth election district shall encompass an area beginning at a point formed by the intersection of the centerline of Sunset Avenue and the centerline of Tracy Street, thence southerly along the centerline of Sunset Avenue to the intersection of the centerline of Noyes Street; thence westerly along the centerline of Noyes Street to the intersection of the centerline of the North-South Arterial Highway, thence northerly along the centerline of the North-South Arterial Highway to the intersection of the centerline of Warren Street; thence easterly along the centerline of Warren Street to the intersection of the centerline of Lincoln Avenue; thence northerly along the centerline of Lincoln Avenue to the intersection of the centerline of Roberts Street, thence easterly along the centerline of Roberts Street to the intersection of the centerline of State Street, thence southerly along the centerline of State Street to the intersection of the centerline of Aiken Street, thence easterly along the centerline of Aiken Street to the intersection of the centerline of Cornelia Street, thence southerly along the centerline of Cornelia Street to the intersection of the centerline of Cornelia Place, thence southeasterly along the centerline of Cornelia Place to the intersection of the centerline of Genesee Street, thence southwesterly along the centerline of Genesee Street to the intersection of the centerline of Tracy Street, thence northwesterly along the centerline of Tracy Street to the point of beginning.

Sec. 2-8-27 Second council district.

The election districts of the second council district shall be as follows:

(1) First election district. The first election district shall encompass an area beginning at a point formed by the intersection of the centerline of Erie Street and the westerly city line, thence easterly and southerly along the westerly city line to the intersection of the extension of the centerline of Goodrich Avenue, thence easterly along the centerline of the extension of Goodrich Avenue to the intersection of the extension of the easterly street line of Churchill Avenue, thence northerly along the extension of the easterly street line of Churchill Avenue and thence the east property line of the New York State Hospital to the intersection of the north property line of the New York State Hospital, thence easterly along the north property line of the New York State Hospital to the intersection of the centerline of Brayton Park Place, thence northerly along the centerline of Brayton Park Place to the intersection of the centerline of Highland Avenue, thence westerly along the centerline of Highland Avenue to the intersection of the centerline of Downer Avenue, thence northerly along the centerline of Downer Avenue to the intersection of the centerline of Erie Street, thence westerly along the centerline of Erie Street to the point of beginning.

(2) Second election district. The second election district shall encompass an area beginning at a point formed by the intersection of the westerly city line and the centerline of Erie Street, thence easterly along the centerline of Erie Street to the intersection of the centerline of Downer Avenue, thence southerly along the centerline of Downer Avenue to the intersection of the centerline of Highland Avenue, thence easterly along the centerline of Highland Avenue to the intersection of the centerline of Brayton Park Place, thence southerly along the centerline of Brayton Park Place to the intersection of the New York State Hospital, thence easterly and northerly along the property line of New York State Hospital to the intersection of the centerline of Whitesboro Street, thence easterly along the centerline of Whitesboro Street to the intersection of the centerline of Jason Street, thence northerly along the centerline of Jason Street to the intersection of the centerline of Oriskany Street West, thence northerly along the centerline of Platt Street to the intersection of the centerline of Consolidated Rail Corporation Tracks, thence westerly along the centerline of Consolidated Rail Corporation Tracks to the intersection of the westerly city line, thence along the westerly city line to the point of beginning.

(3) Third election district. The fifth election district shall encompass an area beginning at a point formed by the intersection of the centerline of Goodrich Avenue and the centerline of York Street, thence southwesterly along the centerline of York Street to the intersection of the centerline of the Burrstone Road Arterial, thence easterly along the centerline of the Burrstone Road Arterial to the intersection of the centerline of the North-South Arterial Highway, thence southwesterly along the centerline of the North-South Arterial Highway to the intersection of the Westerly City Line at the French Road ingress, thence northerly along the westerly city line to the intersection of the centerline of extension of Goodrich Avenue, thence easterly along the centerline of Goodrich Avenue to the point of beginning.

(6) Sixth election district. The sixth election district shall encompass an area beginning at a point formed by the intersection of the centerline of Lenox Avenue and the centerline of Wager Street, thence easterly along the centerline of Wager Street and its extension to the centerline of the North-South Arterial Highway; thence southerly along the centerline of the North-South Arterial Highway to the intersection of the centerline of Noyes Street; thence easterly along the centerline of Noyes Street to the intersection of the centerline of Sunset Avenue, thence southerly along the centerline of Sunset Avenue to the intersection of the centerline of Watson Place thence westerly along the centerline of Watson Place to the intersection of the centerline of Lincoln Avenue, thence southerly along the centerline of Lincoln Avenue to the intersection of the centerline of Thorn Street thence westerly along the centerline of Thorn Street to the intersection of the centerline of Lenox Avenue, thence northerly along the centerline of Lenox Avenue to the point of beginning.

The seventh election district shall encompass an area beginning at appoint formed by the intersection of the centerline of Clinton Place and the centerline of Genesee Street, thence southerly along the centerline of Genesee Street to the intersection of the centerline of Sherman Place, thence westerly along the centerline of Sherman Place to the intersection of the centerline of Lincoln Avenue, thence northerly along the centerline of Lincoln Avenue to the intersection of the centerline of Watson Place, thence easterly along the centerline of Watson Place to the intersection of the centerline of Sunset Avenue, thence northerly along the centerline of Sunset Avenue to the intersection of the centerline of Oswego Street, thence easterly along the centerline of Oswego Street to the point of beginning.

(8) Eighth election district. (4) Fourth election district.
