(a) 
Designated. Those routes, including streets and parts of streets described in Section 2-16-372, are declared to be through freight motor truck routes.
(b) 
Operation of certain trucks restricted to truck routes. No through freight motor truck having a gross weight of vehicle plus load in excess of five tons or 10,000 pounds shall be permitted, driven or operated on any of the public streets of the City, other than those established by ordinance, as through freight motor truck routes. The weight of the truck shall be ascertained by computing the entire weight of the vehicle or truck plus load or, if the vehicle is a tractor-trailer, then by computing the entire weight of the tractor and trailer plus load. However, adequate visible signs shall be posted at intersections marking the streets so designated.
(c) 
Exception. The provisions of this section shall not be construed to prevent deliveries of merchandise or other property along any public street from which trucks are otherwise excluded.

(a) 
Streets designated. Those streets and parts of streets described in Section 2-16-373 are declared to be streets from which heavy freight motor trucks, other than through freight motor trucks provided for in Section 2-16-176, are excluded.
(b) 
Trucks prohibited. No heavy freight motor truck having a gross weight of vehicle plus load in excess of five tons or 10,000 pounds, which weight shall be ascertained by computing the entire weight of the vehicle or truck plus load or, if the vehicle is a tractor-trailer, then by computing the entire weight of the tractor and trailer plus load, shall be permitted, driven or operated on any of the public streets in the City designated in Section 2-16-373. However, adequate visible signs shall be posted at intersections marking the streets so designated.
(c) 
Applicability. The provisions of this section shall not apply to through freight motor trucks for which provision is made in Section 2-16-176. The provisions of this section shall not be construed to prevent deliveries of merchandise or other property along any public street from which trucks are otherwise excluded.

(a) 
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no person shall operate or permit the operation of a tractor-trailer combination, tractor-semitrailer combination or tractor-trailer-semitrailer combination by a person not fully licensed to operate the vehicle, such as trainees, on any street or highway within the City except the following:
(1) 
Streets and highways designated as state arterial highways pursuant to Section 349-e of the Highway Law.
(2) 
Highways under the jurisdiction of the New York Thruway Authority.
(3) 
On Herkimer Road from the easterly City line to North Genesee Street.
(4) 
On Auert Avenue.
(5) 
On Broad Street between Gilbert Street and Ontario Street.
(6) 
While the operator is actually engaged in a chauffeur's license road test conducted by the State Department of Motor Vehicles or is traveling directly to and from the road test site.
(b) 
The driver, training instructor, owner of the motor vehicle and the owner, operator or a manager of the training school shall each be liable for a violation of this section.

No motor truck or tractor-trailer in excess of 25 feet in length shall be parked or left standing on any street of this City for any purpose except the expeditious loading and unloading of freight or merchandise except for an emergency or when otherwise directed by a police officer.

No freight motor vehicle shall be parked or left standing on a sidewalk at any time except in case of emergency.

No trailer section of a tractor-trailer vehicle shall be parked or left standing on any street or public place of this City unless connected to a tractor section and in condition to be moved at any time.

No motor truck or tractor-trailer in excess of 25 feet in length shall be stopped, parked or left standing for purposes of loading or unloading freight or merchandise on streets designated by ordinances within the central traffic district between certain designated hours.
