There shall be created the position of Code Enforcement Officer in the Borough of Clayton.

The Code Enforcement Officer shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Council. His term shall be until December 31 following appointment.

A.
It shall be the responsibility of the Code Enforcement Officer to enforce the ordinances as set forth in the Code of the Borough of Clayton, including but not limited to the following:

Although the Code Enforcement Officer's primary responsibility shall be enforcing the above-enumerated ordinances, other municipal employees and officials may also enforce said ordinances, and the delegation of this enforcement duty to the Code Enforcement Officer shall not preclude others from enforcing said ordinances.
C.
The Code Enforcement Officer shall make investigations, serve violation notices, make and process complaints for code violations and make court appearances as necessary in connection therewith.
D.
The Code Enforcement Officer shall attend all meetings of the Planning Board, Board of Adjustment and other meetings as necessary.
E.
The Code Enforcement Officer shall render a report monthly to the Administrator of his findings and actions taken in the performance of his duties.
The salary, working hours and schedule of the Code Enforcement Officer shall be fixed by the Mayor and Council.
