As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
Includes a carousel, ferris wheel, gravity steeplechase chute,
scenic cave, bicycle carousel, scenic railway, striking machine, switchback,
merry-go-round, puppet show and all other shows of like character
but does not include games of baseball nor authorize gambling or any
games of chance.
In addition to the limitations and restrictions set forth in
the ordinance heretofore adopted by the Common Council known as the
"1967 Zoning Ordinance,"[2] no person, firm or corporation shall conduct a common
show, carnival or street fair, as defined herein, within the boundaries
of the City of Glens Falls without express permission of the Common
Council.
Any person, firm, corporation or copartnership violating any
of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof,
be subject to a fine not to exceed $250 or to imprisonment for a term
not to exceed 15 days, or both.
