[Ord. 1985-1, 2/13/1985; as amended by Ord. 2006-7, 10/11/2006,
§ 6]
The basic form and structure of government provided in the Home
Rule Charter and this Administrative Code is the Council/Manager form
of government. As more fully described in the Home Rule Charter and
this Administrative Code, the legislative powers and functions of
the Township government shall be vested in and exercised by the Board
of Supervisors. The Township Manager shall be the chief administrative
officer of the Township, responsible to the Board of Supervisors for
the administration of all Township affairs. The advisory boards and
commissions perform advisory duties of a continuing nature in specific
areas as designated by this Administrative Code. The Assistant Township
Manager shall be the assistant chief administrative officer of the
Township, responsible primarily to the Township Manager and secondarily
to the Board of Supervisors for assistance and support in the administration
of all Township business and affairs, except when to so act would
be in violation of the provisions of the Charter.
[Ord. 1985-1, 2/13/1985]
The flow of information, policy direction and activity coordination
shall, in the case of administrative matters, be directed to and/or
through the Township Manager. The flow of information in the establishment
of policy shall always emanate from the Board of Supervisors to the
Township Manager and administrative and advisory boards, when applicable.
