If possible, Township employees who resign shall tender their resignations, in writing, at least two weeks prior to the effective date of the resignations in order to provide sufficient time for appointing a successor.
If a Township employee resigns, the Personnel Committee of the Council shall interview him or her to determine, if possible, whether there is a reason other than that stated for the employee's leaving the service of the Township.
The termination of an employee's services for cause shall be accomplished by a recommendation for such action, in writing, which has been referred to, reviewed and approved by the Mayor and Council, provided that the employee has been given notice of the same pursuant to N.J.S.A. 11A:8-1 and has further been given an opportunity to have said charges presented against him or her. For the purpose of this section, "employee" does not include any employee appointed for a specific term, such as the Clerk, secretaries to various boards, Commissioner, Engineer, Auditor and Attorneys.
