There is hereby established a Conservation Commission for the
City.

(a) The Conservation Commission shall be composed of nine members who
shall be appointed by the Mayor for the terms set forth in this section.
(b) The term of office of each member so appointed shall be as follows:
three current members whose terms shall expire on December 31, 2004;
three current members whose terms shall expire on December 31, 2005;
and three current members whose terms shall expire on December 31,
2006. (NOTE: This eliminates two vacant positions.) All appointments
to fill vacancies due to an expired term shall be for terms of three
years.

The City Conservation Commission shall have all the powers and
duties conferred by Section 7-131a of the General Statutes and such
other powers and duties as may be conferred from time to time by law.

The Mayor may remove any member of the City Conservation Commission
for cause and may fill any vacancy on such Commission.
