There is hereby established a Sag Harbor Commission for Commerce
and Industry, which Commission shall consist of eight members of the
general community of said Village, all of whom shall be nonsalaried,
with no greater than three elected officials serving as members.

The Commission shall be appointed by the Mayor subject to approval
by the Board of Trustees. The Commission members who are elected shall
be appointed for the balance of their term in office and of the five
nonofficial members, one shall be appointed initially for a one-year
term, another for a two-year term and the remaining three members
for three-year terms and thereafter each of the nonofficial members
shall be replaced or reappointed for three full-year terms.
The purpose of the hereby established Commission shall be to
study and recommend to the Village Board any and all means by which
the commercial and industrial nature of our community may be enhanced.
The Commission is, by this chapter, empowered to:
A. Hold regular meetings and make rules and regulations governing the
conduct of such meetings.
B. Make recommendations to the Planning Board with respect to its findings.
C. Offer an advisory service to potential commercial and industrial
interests with regard to our community's planned growth and mixture
of services.
D. Confer with any federal, state, town or other municipal or trade
bodies which they feel could be of assistance in their endeavors.
E. Make application for publicity funding in accordance with Village
Law, § 89-28a.
