Notwithstanding any provisions of law or these policies to the
contrary, application for licenses shall be made to the Board of Selectmen,
on an approved form, at least two weeks prior to the need for such
a license.
Unless otherwise provided in this policy, the Town Manager will
be responsible for investigating said applications and making a recommendation
to the Board of Selectmen relative to their disposition.
In the interest of all concerned, it is recommended that persons
requesting licenses or permits be in attendance at the Board meeting
when their request is reviewed. All petitioners shall be notified
by mail of the time and date of the meeting.
All licenses granted by the Board shall be issued by the Town
Manager upon the payment of the prescribed fee. Only those licenses
which by law must be reviewed and approved by a state agency shall
be exempt from the provisions of this policy.

In accordance with MGL c. 140, it is required that any outdoor
theatrical exhibition, public show, public amusement or exhibition
to be held in the Town of Northbridge obtain a license from the Board
of Selectmen for such show or amusement and that application for a
license must be filed with the Board of Selectmen two weeks before
the event and must indicate the name of the owner and the name and
address of the firm involved, the sponsor, the nature and extent of
the show or amusement, the days and hours, amount of admission charge
(if any) and the exact location within the town where the show or
amusement is to be held.
