A.
Owners
of real property located in the Kings Highway Sewer District (KHSD)
that are served by the KHSD shall be required to discharge sewage
into the public sewer via mechanical means by the use of grinder pump
stations and associated appurtenances, including, but not limited
to, the following: pressure service line, corporation stop, lateral
kit assembly and control panel.
B.
Owners
of real property shall bear the cost of connecting their sewer systems
to the KHSD, including, but not limited to, the cost of purchasing
and installing gravity service lines from the property's respective
building to its grinder pump station and pressure service lines from
the property's respective grinder pump station to its corporation
stop, and the cost of installing grinder pump stations and appurtenances.
The Town of Saugerties will provide each property with one grinder
pump station and appurtenances, including corporation stop, lateral
kit assembly and control panel. The Town of Saugerties will install
the corporation stop and lateral kit assembly. The Town of Saugerties
will not provide grinder pump stations and appurtenances to future
properties created via subdivision, nor will the Town of Saugerties
install corporation stops and lateral kit assemblies for these properties.
Owners of real property shall bear the cost of purchasing and installing
future and additional grinder pump stations and appurtenances. Future
or additional grinder pump station equipment and appurtenances shall
be consistent and compatible with KHSD low-pressure sewer system.
Future or additional grinder pump station equipment and appurtenances
shall be subject to review and approval by the Town of Saugerties
Water/Sewer Department.
C.
The materials,
equipment and method of connecting to the KHSD via grinder pump stations
and appurtenances shall be subject to review and approval by the Town
of Saugerties Water/Sewer Department.
D.
KHSD grinder
pump station locations shall be subject to the review and approval
of the Town of Saugerties Water/Sewer Department.
E.
The owners
of real property in the Kings Highway Sewer District shall be responsible
for the maintenance and repair of the grinder pump stations and appurtenances
serving their property.

F.
Persons
who own properties located in the Kings Highway Sewer District that
are served by the Kings Highway Sewer District shall allow access
to their property by the Town of Saugerties Water/Sewer Department
staff for access to inspect the grinder pump stations and appurtenances
for proper operation.

G.
Persons that own properties located in the KHSD that are served by the KHSD are prohibited from discharging any materials and substances excluded from public sewers, as outlined in Article III, as well as stone, shells, plastic objects, feminine products, diapers, socks, rags, kitty litter or any material that may damage or adversely affect grinder pump stations, appurtenances or public sewer.

It is the intention of the Town Board of the Town of Saugerties
by the adoption of this article to establish for each sewer user sewer
rents for the King's Highway Sewer District for operation and maintenance
costs based and imposed upon water consumption.
