The owner of real property in the Town of Hartland, outside the Village of Middleport, upon which a structure is located shall affix the numerical street address as assigned by the Building Inspector or Zoning Enforcement Officer or as the premises is known on the real property tax rolls of the Town of Hartland to a post which is in close proximity to the property access, located on the same side of the road as the principal structure, and not more than 25 feet from the edge of the right-of-way. The address shall be in reflective Arabic numbers not less than four inches in height and shall be mounted against a contrasting background. All numbers must be clearly visible from the street and unobstructed by shrubs, fences, trees, and other objects.

The requirements of this chapter may be satisfied by affixing the numerical street address to the roadside mailbox or to the post to which the mailbox is affixed, so long as all other requirements of this chapter are thereby met.
Failure to comply with this chapter shall constitute a violation punishable by a fine of not more than $100. Each week of noncompliance shall constitute a separate offense.
This chapter shall be enforced by the Zoning Enforcement Officer of the Town of Hartland and the Code Enforcement Officer of the Town of Hartland, or either of them.
