Ambulance service — See Ch. 4.
The Village Board of Trustees hereby agrees to establish a service award program for volunteer members of the Dundee Fire Department/Dundee Ambulance Squad as of June 1, 2006.
The program shall consist of a defined benefit plan with investment and administrative services to be provided by VFIS.
The Village Clerk/Treasurer be and hereby is authorized to take all actions necessary to lawfully submit this resolution for the approval or disapproval of the qualified electors of the Village of Dundee at a general election to be held in the Village of Dundee on the 21st day of March 2006 between the hours of 12:00 noon and 9:00 p.m.[1]

Shall the qualified electors of the Village of Dundee approve the resolution adopted by the Village Board of Trustees on the 14th day of February 2006 to establish a service award program for members of the Dundee Fire Department/Dundee Ambulance Squad as of June 01, 2006?

Such program would consist of a defined benefit plan as a service award which could be established for an annual estimated cost of $1,327.67 per participant; with a total annual estimated program cost of $77,005 representing approximately a $47 per 1,000 assessed valuation increase in the real property taxes of the Village of Dundee; with a $0.34 per 1,000 assessed valuation increase in the Fire Protection/Ambulance Service for the Town of Starkey, Town of Barrington and the Town of Reading. Such a program would provide an eligible volunteer fire fighter and/or EMT having 30 years credited service with an anticipated payment of $600 per month for life.
