The Chief of Police is hereby authorized to promulgate written
regulations regarding the following:
A. Designating stops, stations or stands for omnibuses, jitneys, taxis
and any other motor vehicles.
B. Designating curb loading zones.
C. Designating restricted parking spaces for use by persons who have
been issued special motor vehicle identification cards by the Division
of Motor Vehicles pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:4-205 and N.J.S.A. 39:4-197.5.
Any person parking a motor vehicle in a restricted parking space without
a special vehicle identification card shall be liable to a penalty
not to exceed $50 for each offense.
The description of the exact location of any such stops, stations,
stands, zones or parking spaces shall be prepared by the City Engineer
and shall be included in the written regulation.
Any regulation promulgated pursuant to §
243-58.1 of this article shall include the following:
A. A statement setting forth the type of use or restriction being created;
B. A description of the affected location, pursuant to §
243-58.2 herein; and
C. The signature of the Chief of Police or his designee in his absence.
The Chief of Police may by regulation rescind any prior regulation promulgated pursuant to this article, or he may rescind any prior enactment of the City Council regarding the subject matter of §
243-58.1 herein. Such rescinding regulation shall include:
A. A statement setting forth the prior regulation or enactment being
rescinded;
B. A description of the affected location, pursuant to §
243-58.2 herein; and
C. The signature of the Chief of Police or his designee in his absence.
A copy of any regulation promulgated pursuant to this article
shall be immediately provided to the City Clerk, the Chairman of the
Transportation Committee of City Council and the City Business Administrator.
Regulations promulgated pursuant to this article shall become effective
upon the posting of the proper signs or other designations giving
notice to those who will be affected.
Any regulation promulgated pursuant to this article shall be
considered a part of the Municipal Code of the City of Atlantic City.

The Director of Police is hereby authorized to determine and
set time limitations and rates for on-street parking meters, with
the approval of the City Council, by resolution.
