Speed monitoring systems. A "speed monitoring system," as defined
under Maryland law, means a device with one or more motor vehicle
sensors producing recorded images of motor vehicles traveling at least
12 miles per hour above the posted speed limit.
The Chief of Police, or his/her designee, is hereby authorized to place school zone speed monitoring systems at locations established under Article V, § 106-29, of the City Code.
For a period of at least 30 days after the first speed monitoring
system is placed in the City, a violation recorded by any speed monitoring
system in the City shall be enforced only by the issuance of a warning.
Severability. If any section or part of a section of this article
shall be held invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such holding
shall not affect the remainder of this article.
