There is hereby established a Dedham Sustainability Advisory
Committee consisting of nine persons to be appointed by the Board
of Selectmen, including one member of the Board of Selectmen and eight
at-large members. The Committee shall be comprised of the following:
a designee of the Board of Selectmen; a high school student who is
also a Dedham resident and seven at-large members, all of whom shall
serve without compensation.
The Committee shall annually elect from among its members a
Chairman, a Vice-chairman and a Clerk, and such other officers as
the Committee shall deem necessary and proper.
The Committee shall advise the Board of Selectmen on strategies
for advancing the Town's commitment to renewable energy, at the municipal,
business, and residential level and shall educate Dedham residents
and encourage energy conservation and sustainability by addressing
the long term impacts of fossil fuels such as pollution, global warming
and climate change, thereby engaging the community in making smart
energy choices and forging the path for a sustainable Dedham that
will have a long-lasting, positive impact on future generations.
