The Mayor shall nominate and, with the advice and consent of
Township Committee, appoint a person to fill the position of Chief
Financial Officer of the Township of Buena Vista, which person shall
hold a municipal finance officer certificate pursuant to N.J.S.A.
40A:9-140.13. Neither the Mayor nor a member of the governing body
shall be eligible to serve as Chief Financial Officer in the Township
of Buena Vista.

The Chief Financial Officer shall have a term of four years
which may be renewed at the pleasure of the Township Committee, provided
that any person serving in such position for a period of not less
than four consecutive years shall be granted tenure in office upon
compliance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140.8, as amended,
in which event such person shall continue to hold office during good
behavior and efficiency and shall not be removed except for just cause,
and then only in a manner provided by N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140.1 et seq.,
as amended. The Township Committee may also appoint a person to serve
the remainder of an existing term.
No person shall be appointed or reappointed as Chief Financial
Officer in the Township of Buena Vista unless such person holds a
municipal finance officer certificate issued pursuant to the provisions
of N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140.1 et seq., as amended.
The Chief Financial Officer of the Township of Buena Vista shall
perform such duties as may be assigned by the Mayor or Township Committee
and shall carry out the responsibilities set forth by N.J.S.A. 52:27BB-26
et seq., N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140.1 et seq. and such additional duties as
may be prescribed by other statutes of the State of New Jersey or
by subsequent ordinances adopted by the Township Committee of the
Township of Buena Vista.
