1. On the following bridges and streets or parts of streets, by authority
granted by Section 4902(a) of the Vehicle Code, it shall be unlawful
for any person or persons to drive any vehicle or combination having
a gross weight in excess of the maximum prescribed below for that
bridge or street or part of street, as the case may be:

2. Any person who violates any provision of this section shall be prosecuted
under Sections 4902(a) and 4902(g-1) of the Vehicle Code, and, upon
conviction, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of $150.00 plus $150.00
for each 500 pounds, or part thereof, in excess of 3,000 pounds over
the maximum allowable weight, and costs.

1. The proper officers of the Township are authorized and directed to
impose weight restrictions upon the roadways in the Township, which
are under the jurisdiction of the Township, so as to preserve and
maintain the integrity upon various roadways, and establishing the
procedure for the imposition of such weight restrictions.
2. The imposition of weight restrictions upon the highways of the Township
shall be carried out in the following manner:
A. Request or direction by the Township Commissioners that the Township
Engineer performed a study as to whether any specific roadway or roadways
should be subject to weight restrictions.
B. The performance of a weight restriction study and forwarded the same
by the Township Engineer to the Township Commissioners for consideration.
C. Adoption by the Township Commissioners of a formal resolution establishing
the weight restrictions for the identified roadway.
3. It is the intent and purpose of this Section that it shall be deemed to be the enabling ordinance whereby weight restrictions may be imposed upon roadways in the Township pursuant to subsection
(3), above, and that the same may be done by resolution and not required to be enacted by formal ordinance procedure.
4. Deviation from the above imposed weight restriction may be accorded
on an individual case by case basis upon appropriate application to
the Township officials, and only after review and analysis by the
Township Engineer, and the determination of an amount of bond that
will be required to insure the integrity or restoration of the road,
when used by individuals exceeding the weight restriction. In this
respect, the amount of bonding imposed, the duration, the methodology
whereby such bonding is released will be set forth in the initial
document permitting the individual user to exceed the posted weight
restrictions.
5. Violation of the within subsections and operating a vehicle upon
a roadway of the Township in excess of the designated weight restriction
shall be a summary criminal offense punishable by a fine not to exceed
$600.00 with a minimum fine of $50.00, as thereafter determined by
the district justice of the peace having jurisdiction of the matter,
or in default of such payment, an imprisonment not to exceed 30 days.
