[HISTORY: Adopted by the Orangetown Town Board 10-14-1968 by L.L. No.
7-1968. Amendments noted where applicable.]
Legislative Intent
The Town Board of the Town of Orangetown, which Town is a suburban
Town under the provisions of Article 3A of the Town Law of the State
of New York, takes cognizance of the fact that the administration
of the various laws of the State of New York and local laws of the
Town of Orangetown relating to the construction of new buildings,
the maintenance of old buildings, the approval of subdivisions and
the enforcement of all the laws applicable to these operations of
Town government now requires an integration of administration and
enforcement. By combining the functions of several departments or
offices of Town government into one larger office with proper professional
supervision, more adequate service can be rendered to the public and
the administration and enforcement of existing laws can be accomplished
without overlapping of personnel functions and an unnecessary increase
in the amount of supervisory personnel necessary to accomplish this
purpose.
